Malaysia Decides 2008...

Actually, I don't want to write about politics in my blog but today I have changed my mind because last night's results really stunned me!
I am sure Malaysians awoke today ( Sunday) to the biggest sea-change in politics in almost 40 years. It feels Malaysia is a whole new country.
And of course the results came as a shock not just to BN but also the Opposition.
You see, BN leaders and the media expected the wind of change to come to Penang and Kedah but they missed out on Selangor, certainly the jewel in the crown for the opposition this time around. While BN managed to keep Ganu ( although coalition loses more seats to PAS) and will form the next government, BN failed to recapture Kelantan. PAS has strengthened its hold on Kelantan with almost clean sweep of the state.

MCA is the biggest loser ( see what happen to Penang ) while MIC failed badly too with its top leadership rejected by the voters. ( Semua tahu sape kan yg dimaksudkan). I've read in the newspaper this morning, before the official results being announced, DS Samy Velle put on a brave support as feedback came from his supporters that he had lost his parliamentary seat. He told them he was going home for a bath and did not return.
"Jangan over confident..nanti memakan diri !!!"
BN will obviously be in a serious postmortem from today.
In the end of the day, however the clear winner was the democratic systems in Malaysia!
But remember....always friendship, never politics.
